| Bio: | Originally I conceived of this blog as being about the media. As a former journalist and longtime media pundit (annoying my friends and family no end), I wanted to use a blog to defend the practice of traditional journalism (Walter Lippmann, the Five Ws, objectivity, and so on) against all those who would attack it. But who am I kidding? Since then I've been all over the map, especially given my involvement in Michigan Democratic politics. So while I still try to keep an eye on the media, and feel we need good journalism in this country, now more than ever (More shoe-leather sleuthing, fewer hacks...more people willing to ask the tough questions, fewer Jeff Gannons...more independence, less payola and government PR masquerading as journalism), this blog is mostly political these days.
